The old lady

There she sits, day in and day out under the lamp post
With misery in her eyes, body hunched and a bony hand stretched out for alms.
People pass by her, some giving pity looks and others a few coins, but mostly ignoring the tiny old lady.
I watch her everyday and wonder what made her deserve this and would her misery end?
And as an answer to my question, the next day I saw her limp, lifeless body being taken away.
Is this the end of her suffering or would there be more, as her soul travels from one body to another.

Monsoon woes

Its raining  in Hyderabad. The days of gloomy weather and garam chai with pakoda are back again. Not to forget the high jumps that are needed to avoid the puddles on the road. I am not such a big fan of rains. I really dont understand why people link rains with romance(I think I am going to get some serious dislikes from the twilight series fans by this statement). Romance can also happen on a cold winter day or on a warm sunny day.  Also the start of monsoons always reminds me of the the first day of school after the summer vacations. The gloomy weather made it all the way more painful to start school after 3 months of pure bliss.

I am a big fan of winter. I would give anything in the world to just curl up on my easy chair with a warm blanket, a steaming hot mug of coffee and my favorite book.I especially love to go on a long walk on a winter morning, wearing all your winter accessories like a warm, cosy sweater or a beautiful shawl. Everything looks so bright, the sky looks bluer than usual, the flowers and the grass looks brighter than usual, as if everything has suddenly changed to high-def.
